Counseling

* I am not currently working with therapy clients

I believe in therapy, and I believe in you.

I think trying to find a therapist is brave: it is hard to be in pain, to be confused, to need more than you can offer yourself, or whatever other reasons that could send you to the internet to look up therapy -- it's brave to reach out.

Since our work together will be about you and the questions you're dealing with, let me start by offering some answers to a few fundamental questions about my therapy practice.

Who do I work with?

Do you want to be or feel more alive?

I want to work with you.

Does that question make you uncomfortable, but in a curious or excited way?

I want to work with you.

I am passionate about partnering with people who are curious about how to be more alive in their bodies, relationships, and experiences.

What experiences do I work with?

Almost any, but especially these:

  • Being larger-bodied

  • Being uncomfortable in your own skin

  • Depression/anxiety

  • Recovery from eating disorders

  • Grief and bereavement

  • Spiritual pain, confusion & formation

  • Having family members with chronic mental health issues

  • Compassion/caregiver fatigue

  • Needing to learn how to establish and maintain healthy boundaries

How do I work?

My practice is informed by a weight-inclusive and Health At Every Size approach, and I use a relational and narrative style to help you understand your own story, patterns, and experiences.  My goal is to help you to feel alive, welcome, and at home in your own life and body.

Why do I do this work?

Because learning to be alive and realizing that change actually is possible, have so radically changed my life that I can't help but pass on the goodness I've found to others who seek it.

What do I charge?

My fee for a 50-minute session is $115.  If finances are what would keep you from reaching out, feel free to check with me to see if I have any sliding-scale spots available - I am happy to offer them when I have them.

How to get started?

Call or email to set up an initial consultation.

Together we get to witness what often goes unwitnessed.
